Oxfordshire’s Adoption Team is encouraging people to come forward and adopt children who have waited the longest for a family.
Pauline Upstone, Adoption Team Manager, hopes the event will help people become more informed about the process and encourage them to get involved. You will have the opportunity to chat informally to a social worker and also hear from adoptive parents themselves.
The event aims to encourage people to come forward to adopt the children who might otherwise miss out on adoption - older children, children with disabilities and brothers and sisters.
We asked one adopter to explain more “Adopting my 10 year old boy has given me all the joy which I had hoped for and more. Through him I have rediscovered childhood and look forward to all the experiences we will go through together during our lives. He has given me reason and love and patience for which I will always be truly grateful'
“Making space in your life is an amazing thing to do…..” and we are really keen to meet people who are interested in finding out about the adoption process, we welcome applications from a diverse range of people with different backgrounds and experiences, so that more children will be better placed with the right family.
